As Chief Claims Officer for the Motor Insurers Bureau Andrew can draw upon over 30 years of experience in the world of insurance claims.
Andrew began his insurance career working for Commercial Union in the mid-1990s and via a series of moves and insurance company mergers during which he worked in all parts of the claims business ended up as Director of Technical Claims at Aviva Insurance. During his time at Aviva, Andrew was heavily involved in campaigning for whiplash claims reform and chaired the ABI Personal Injury Committee during the changes brought by the Civil Liability Act. He also coordinated Aviva’s approach to Covid-19 business interruption claims.
Andrew moved to the MIB in 2023 and is now heavily engaged in the MIB’s new ‘Accelerating to Zero’ uninsured driving strategy, leading on the MIB’s claims initiatives to ensure the victims of uninsured or hit and run driving continue to receive fair compensation as quickly as possible. He also leads MIB’s response to Connected and Autonomous Vehicles including the MIB’s work with the Dept for Transport on devising a solution for micro-mobility claims.
